Intentional

As the days end sooner, I’m reminded to be intentional with every moment of the day.

12 Years and I still do...
Today marks 12 years of marriage to my super cool husband, my very best friend!
I must admit it has not all been roses and fairytales but it has been a journey of discovery, building and development. Marriage is not for the faint of heart. I don’t think any of us ever really truly know what we are signing up for when we first say those two worlds "I do." We are signing up for a lifelong commitment, even when the "feelings" are not there. We choose love.
Through these 12 years I’ve learned a lot about him. I am so close to him I can feel when he is off balance or if he’s had a hard day... it’s like our souls are connected and I have compassion for the things that grieve his soul and I feel joy for the things that he celebrates and enjoys in this life! My soul walks with his.
I’ve also learned a lot about myself. I’ve discovered the things in me that I didn’t know I had. I didn’t know I could love on this level, forgive on this level and continue to stand this long even after hurts and letdowns. But with the grace, love and guidance from the light of God, it is in me to love unconditionally. When we understand that about ourselves, that’s powerful! Love is the most powerful force here on earth. The power is only as good as the connection we have with God (LOVE).
I’ve also discovered the things about myself that I don’t like, that I choose to continue to work on. It’s a daily choice to choose to allow God to work these areas out in me. I believe that through marriage God can develops us to be the best version of ourselves, as we allow Him to work out the junk in us and no better way than to do that while you’re in a life long commitment with your spouse, because He will use our spouse to help mold us. He will expose the junk in us and we can make the decision to make the needed adjustments together.
I’m thankful for the wonderful times and I am thankful for the hard times too. The things I never thought I’d ever be able to face, I’ve overcame. The things I’ve been fearful of, I face, and the the things I have in me that are not reflections of God, I am working on. So today after 12 years of laughter, love, development, joy, fire, ups and downs, good and bad I am overwhelmed with gratitude! Thank you Lord from rescuing Adrian and I! Use us...
